FDA Report For Transvaginal Mesh
The FDA issued a strongly worded warning based on the growing number of complaints of injuries reported about Transvaginal Mesh. William Maisel, MD, MPH, chief scientist of the FDA's Center for Devices said "There are clear risks associated with the transvaginal placement of mesh to treat POP."
CT Scan Complications and Radiation Lawsuits
In Dec. 2009, the FDA issued an alert regarding CT brain perfusion scans and possible over radiation. The letter noted that if patient doses are higher than expected levels, but not high enough to produce obvious signs of radiation injury, the problem may go undetected and unreported, putting patients at increased risk for long-term radiation effects.
